Riverton, UT Schools: Every School Serving Riverton Families
Every public school serving Riverton is run by Jordan School District, but the school lines don't follow the city lines. Riverton City lists 20 public schools whose boundaries reach into Riverton, and several of them are in Herriman, Bluffdale or South Jordan. That's why the school a home actually feeds matters as much as the Riverton address itself.
Jordan District also uses a less common grade setup: elementary school is kindergarten through 6th grade, middle school is 7th through 9th grade, and high school is 10th through 12th grade.
Riverton families also have strong programs close to home: Chinese Dual Language Immersion at Southland and Foothills elementaries, which continues at Oquirrh Hills Middle; the ALPS accelerated program at Riverton Elementary; and a Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers campus right in town.
Boundaries also shift as Riverton grows. One change took effect this school year and more are proposed for 2027-28, so always check a specific address before you buy.

How do school boundaries work in Riverton?
Jordan School District draws a separate attendance boundary for each school, not for each city. That's why a Riverton home can feed a school in Herriman, Bluffdale or South Jordan, and why two homes on the same street can go to different schools. The district updates boundaries as new neighborhoods fill in. For example, starting in 2026-27, Midas Creek Elementary families moved to Oquirrh Hills Middle and Riverton High. More changes are proposed for 2027-28, so always check a specific address before you buy.
